The announcement we made yesterday about the entire book being free was one of those ”it sounds too good too be true” situations.  The link is just a preview of the book.  Please visit the websites posted earlier or your nearest bookstore to get a copy.  I’d like to think that a $20 investment in the book is worth as much as going to a $200 camp.

You must read the Introduction and Chapter 1 (to page nine) by Wednesday April 8th.  We will have a group discussion every week on the chapters read.

Please let the coaches know if you do not have money to buy it.

Clinic will begin prior to the start of the tournament at 8:00AM. This is a free clinic sponsored by the SCWA, make plans now to attend both the tournament and clinic.

Weigh-ins: 7:00-8:30 AM
Wrestling begins: Clinic will alter tournament start time. (approx. start time to be 9:30-10:00)
Styles: Vary from tournament to tournament (Freestyle-FS,Greco-Roman- GR, Folkstyle-FLKS and Grappling-GRAP)
Age divisions: Kids through Open at all tournaments.
Entry Fee: $10.00 per style, division and weight class.
Membership: USA Cards are required. Cards are good for all USAW events nationwide and can be purchased online or at each tournament for $40.00.
Bracketing: Pooled weight classes.
Awards: Top three per weight class.

We will start reading the Wrestling Tough book by Mike Chapman as a team starting the first week in April .  We will read one chapter a week and discuss it as a group.  I strongly believe that reading it and being able to make it relevant in a personal way to each of you will improve your wrestling performance.

 The Banquet put a closure to a fine season.  The banquet room was pretty much filled to capacity and everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon.  The wrestlers were awarded their certificates, letters, and trophies.  Thanks to all the parents that helped with this event.  Special thanks to the Melendrez for all their hard work on this event and thoughout the season.
